Lot of people are making money with CPA offers. Even I am making money with such offers and I tell people on how to go about it. I see people get all excited about this thing and rush towards signing up with CPA networks. Getting approved by CPA networks is NOT easy. There are lot of frauds and spammers on the Internet and the CPA network has to let people in after knowing a few things about them. Obviously, no one would like to do business with someone who does not know what he is doing or whether is for real. In this post I will write about how to to approach a CPA network.
First, you need to know what is CPA. CPA stands for Cost Per Action or Cost Per Acquisition. In simple language, CPA means you get paid when someone visits your site and takes some action. The action can be a purchase or submission of some information like an email address, zip code or credit card information. Such information is collected by companies for marketing purposes. In return, you get some free samples, prizes or products.
A CPA network has all these offers from various advertisers. The CPA network acts as the agent between us publishers and the advertisers. By becoming a publisher for a CPA network, we get a permission to promote offers and make money. This means the first and most important thing to make money with CPA networks is to get approved by the CPA network. Lot of people treat these application forms like free email service sign up forms and end up getting disapproved. One should take a good look at the application form and fill it with proper care and understanding. Here are some points that you need to understand before applying for a CPA network.
- Most of the CPA offers are limited to US, UK and Canada. While applying, make sure that you provide the URL of your website which has a maximum of visitors from any of these countries.
- A website like celebrity news has a lesser chance of getting approved compared to a site built around a product. So try and submit a website which has more information on a particular product or products.
- While applying, use your domain specific email address. Something like yourname@yourbusiness.com sounds good and looks genuine.
- Try and use reference of some person/blog/site you have been following. This helps because the affiliate network knows what you are trying to do and where do you come from.
- If you don’t look for promoting offers through emails, then don’t check the option that says promotion by email. Affiliate Networks are strict on email marketing and will have a close check on you. I have seen people get in trouble with email marketing. Don’t do it if you don’t know the legal aspects of email marketing. You might get disapproved, if youa re not able to answer questions on email marketing.
- Most Important – You will always find a section (text box) where you can add comments or more info while submitting your form. Make use of this box, do not ever leave it blank. This is very important for someone who is not in the United States or Canada as publishers outside these countries don’t get approved so easily. This box can be used to explain on what do you know about Internet Marketing, mention about your experience with PPC, SEO etc. Most importantly, mention about other networks who have approved you. This will help you get approved for sure.
Most of you will still get disapproved due to various reasons. Don’t just cry over it. Most of the affiliate networks want to talk to you over the phone. Once you get the not approved email, just pick up the phone and speak to someone in their office. Explain them what you are planning to do and how are you going to do it. Every person needs a start and if this is your start then tell them so. Be honest with whatever you say and you will be approved. Once approved, do let me know if any of my points above helped you.
